Issues for Preschoolers Safety and Cleanliness Nutrition and Exercise Sharing Learning and Rules

Safety & Cleanliness It is important that children’s things are cleans such as: Toys Tables Sleeping mats Safety is a very important part of a preschooler’s life which may include: Clean, dry floors A safe classroom with no harmful surroundings Toys are safely put away

How Parents Can Help With Safety & Cleanliness Parents can help with safety & cleanliness by: Having children pick up toys at home Show them how it is safe to walk in the house Teach them that being clean helps keep away germs and helps others

Nutrition & Exercise Today, children’s nutrition and exercise have been lacking. It is important that children learn in school at a young age how nutrition and exercise are a very important aspect of life Children should also understand how more successful they can be if they eat right and keep fit.

How Parents Can Help with Nutrition and Exercise Parents should show kids how good fruits and vegetables are for them. They should encourage kids to play outside. Parents should make sure their children stay fit by signing them up for t-ball, soccer, etc.

Sharing Sharing is an important part of school. Children who can not share have a harder time in school, than those who are more willing to. Teaching is harder when kids do not learn at home to share.

How Parents can Help with Sharing Parents can help encourage sharing by: Making children share with siblings Having friends over to play Sharing their snack with someone Teaching them that thinking of others is important

Learning and Rules Research has shown that young children need clear & simple rules to be able to carry out the rule. Children learn best by doing. Students need good role models to be able to understand rules and learn effectively.

How Parents Can Help with Learning and Rules Parents can help by giving children one step instructions such as, “Go pick up your toys,” instead of “Go pick up your toys and go outside.” This helps kids learn to do one thing at a time and helps them learn that the rule is to pick up the toys before you can go outside. Parents should encourage children to listen to their teachers.
