The Interior Angles of Polygons. Sum of the interior angles in a polygon We’ve seen that a quadrilateral can be divided into two triangles … … and a pentagon.
Polygons Only one of these is a polygon. Do you know? A polygon MUST be a closed figure.
Plane Figures. What are the types of figures? A closed figure begins and ends at the same end point. An open figure has ends that do not meet.

Polygons

Poly means many gon means side So polygons means many sides

A polygon must only be made of straight sides. The shape must be closed.

These are polygons.

These are not polygons.

Regular polygons have all sides the same length.

In this case regular is the opposite of irregular. What does irregular in clothing mean?  Badly stitched in some small area, wrong sizing. The rejects from the good clothes basically.

This are irregular polygons.

Tri means 3 Triangles have 3 sides.
