Plants There are not many plats tat survive in the alpine tundra, because 75% of the land is covered in permafrost. Also, the temperature is so cold that not much an grow. One of the plant that can survive in the alpine tundra s the Calliegon giganteum which lives n the bottom of tundra lakes.
