LGE Media festival week of January 23, 2017

What, when, where, why??? What is it? The media festival is a way to show what you are learning at school, using technology and the 4 cs of creativity, communication, collaboration, and Critical thinking! When is it? Our school festival will be held the week of January 23, 2018. Where will you work on this project? We will work on it in the media center , classroom and at home. Why do a project? It is a fun way to show what you know!

How do you do a media festival project? Come with me and see!!!!

Creativity: Create a story and pictures (like your own everybody book!) Show someone how to do something. (step by step) Give information about something you have learned. (make sure you site your sources) Entertain your audience with a song, jingle, commercial… Talk to people about what they do and share with others.

Collaboration Two people write the script or story while others Create pictures for your project Share directions for everyday things you do—work with a partner to make sure all steps are included Have others help you Edit your story to make it even better Practice with everyone doing the video or reading the story Work together to plan out what technology you will need

Communication: Figure out who is your audience and make sure you use the correct vocabulary Add detailed pictures to help tell the story Add voices—making sure you are loud and clear enough to be understood Add music to create and communicate a mood for your story (is it scary? Funny? Exciting? Enough)

Critical thinking: Make sure you watch your media festival project and make necessary changes Ask—what can be done to make it better? Is there a lesson that can be learned for others?
