ACTIVITIES: FOURTH MEETING OF THE WG ET&EE WG ET&EE, PA 8, EUSDR ACTIVITIES: FOURTH MEETING OF THE WG ET&EE 30 participants from 8 Danube countries (AT, BG, CZ, DE, HR, HU, RO, RS) PACs emphasized the importance of networking and cooperation for successful partnerships Focus on decentralized solutions for wastewater treatment and energy efficiency 4 projects and best practices were presented Information about European funding opportunities

ACTIVITIES: EXPERT EXCHANGE WG ET&EE, PA 8, EUSDR ACTIVITIES: EXPERT EXCHANGE Dr. Marin Miletic, Croatian Energy Institute Hrvoje Pozar =› stay in Ba-Wü Dr. Marin Miletic, Croatian Energy Institute Hrvoje Pozar (member of the WG) was invited to the Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector Baden-Württemberg for 10 days in June 2015 Aim: meet existing partners and find new ones for common projects First Result: Application for Danube Transnational Project ‘Win Win Options for Waste Water’ was handed in (University of Stuttgart, ISWA and Energy Institute Hrovje Pozar within 18 partners altogether from 12 countries) Further possibilities: Currently new project is created between Energy Institute Hrovje Pozar and University of Stuttgart, Chair for Building Physics (LBP), Life Cycle Engineering

WG ET&EE, PA 8, EUSDR RESULTS: PROJECTS Analysis of Wastewater, Biomass and Energy Management in Stara Pazova and Indjijia, Serbia Project term: July 2013 - May 2014; Funding: € 26.340; EUSDR-Fond, State Ministry Baden-Württemberg Project executing organization: University of Stuttgart, Institute of Sanitary Engineering, Water Quality and Solid Waste Management (ISWA) Currently tender for pre-feasibility-study is prepared Serbia is applying for 45 Mio € IPA funding in order to build cross-sectorial plant (waste water, waste and energy)

WG ET&EE, PA 8, EUSDR RESULTS: PROJECTS Impact of Wastewater Discharges on Water Quality - A Preliminary Study for Sustainable Water Management in the Danube River Basin (Serbia) Project term: Oct 2014 - Dec 2014; Funding: € 71.254; Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector Baden-Württemberg Project executing organization: University of Stuttgart, Institute of Sanitary Engineering, Water Quality and Solid Waste Management (ISWA) Very interesting results concerning the loads of discharges (e.g. Ibuprofen, caffeine, etc.) in the region

RESULTS: PROJECTS Training module for the water sector in Croatia WG ET&EE, PA 8, EUSDR RESULTS: PROJECTS Training module for the water sector in Croatia Project term: Oct 2014 - Dec 2014; Funding: € 79.200; Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector Baden-Württemberg Project executing organization: Training and Competence Center (TCC) Danubius, Ulm Six-week modular course with all the required documents (lectures, handouts, exercises and tests) for suitably trained and skilled personnel was developed.

RESULTS: PROJECTS Sewage sludge incinerator in Eger, Hungary WG ET&EE, PA 8, EUSDR RESULTS: PROJECTS Sewage sludge incinerator in Eger, Hungary Project term: Oct 2014 - Dec 2014; Funding: € 36.300; Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector Baden-Württemberg Project executing organization: Plattform Umwelttechnik Baden-Württemberg e.V. Check of all parameters of the plant Project is a valuable contribution in order to stop the spreading of sewage sludge on fields (to prevent harmful substances reach food chain) Project term: Sept. 2015 - Feb. 2016; Funding € 40.000; State Ministry Baden-Württemberg Optimization of plant for the disposal of sewage sludge according to EU Directive Aim: Market launch

WG ET&EE, PA 8, EUSDR RESULTS: PROJECTS LEEN – Learning Energy Efficiency Network in Serbia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania Project term: May 2015 – Oct. 2015; Funding: € 41.400; State Ministry Baden-Württemberg Project executing organization: LEEN GmbH, Karlsruhe Funding was given for a market development study =› very successful! Network in Belgrade is starting in Dec. 2015 (8 public companies with 30 public buildings, e.g. Belgrade Fair, Icehockey stadion, Basket ball hall, children hospital, etc.) Network in Vojvodina with 8 municipalities will start 5th March 2016 (7 buildings in each municipality are examined) Trainers and hosts are trained in Kosovo Network with bakeries and further SME in Montenegro is planned

Jan to Feb 2016: A new online platform for the WG members to stay in contact, to exchange project ideas and experience, etc. Spring 2016: 5th Meeting of the WG ET&EE Closer cooperation with PA 2 and PA 4
