PARENTING THAT WORKS Text: Deuteronomy 6:4-8

"Daddy, keep me from getting caught in the bushes."

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 5 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 5. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.” Deuteronomy 6:4-8

“Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4

Parenting That Works and Transforms Their Immature Children into Mature Christian Adults Teach the Three Nonnegotiable Laws of Maturity.

LAW ONE THE LAW OF SOWING AND REAPING

LAW ONE 1. THE PRINCIPLE OF GIVING

LAW ONE 2. THE PRINCIPLE OF RECEIVING

LAW ONE 3. THE PRINCIPLE OF PLANTING

LAW ONE 4. The Principle of Harvesting

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Galatians 6:7-10

II. LAW TWO THE LAW OF RESPECT

II. LAW TWO 1. Respect for God

“God why do you hate me?” Bruce Nolan (Jim Carrey)

II. LAW TWO 2. Respect for Authority

III. LAW THREE THE LAW OF RESPONSIBILITY

“Each one should test his own actions “Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, 5. for each one should carry his own load.” Galatians 6:4,5

One of the hallmarks of maturity is taking responsibility for one’s own life, desires, and problems.
