Guidelines in Preparing the Business Plan Keep your business plan concise and clear Keep your slides interactive and reflective to your business idea without the heavy use of long paragraphs The slides should not exceed 15 slides Follow the given format in the coming slides

Title Slide Name of your business idea 1-sentence summary of your business idea 5-10 words that concisely articulate the business Your name/team members’ names Date of submission

Introduction Briefly introduce yourself and your idea including your passions, inspiration and rationale for starting such business

The Problem/Opportunity/Need Define the problem or need in the market What’s the pain or need that your potential customers have? ( you many include validating quotes from Customer or Analyst

The Solution Clearly describe the business ’s product or service that will address the problem Illustrate the company’s solution with graphics, pictures or videos as necessary (keep this very simple) Provide brief list of features, benefits and advantages What is the value proposition for the customer (How will the product or service solve the problem)? Cost savings, convenience, reliability, etc. (be specific) What are the social and economical impacts for the solution?

Opportunity & Market What are the market details? Describe the market size Describe the market segment(s) that will be served by your business How much projected revenue will you earn in 3-5 years? (you may use table). Who are the key players? What is the ideal customer like? What is their profile? Who sells your product or service? What are marketing and sales plan? How will you market and sell your product or service?

Technology / Process What is the technology (or process) behind your business? Do you have an illustration or photo of how your technology (or process) works? What is the value proposition? How does your technology (or process) solve the problem that customers have? Why should they pay you for it? Will you build or buy the technology (or process)?

Competitive Advantages What competitive advantages do you have? How are you better than your competitors? Do you have a unique team, partner, invention, intellectual property, insights, or expertise that others don’t have? Why will customers care? Why will customers choose your product or service, instead of your competitor’s?

Financial Roadmap Project your revenue and expenses over the next 3-5 years How do you make money? How much money do you make each year, for the next 3 years? What are your expenses over the next 3 years? E.g., Development, Marketing/Sales, Staff/Salaries, Office Space, Legal, Inventory, etc. When will your business turn a profit? When you are expecting that your revenue will exceed expenses?

The Team How many people will make up your current team? Why is your team qualified to run this business?

Timeline What are milestones for your business idea? (you may use Gantt Chart) Where do you plan to go from here? What are your next steps? How will you get there?
