7 electromagnetic waves by: Kenny Osborne

Radio waves The region of the electromagnetic spectrum with the longest wavelengths and lowest frequencies. Radio waves are about 100,000 times longer than visible light waves. Examples Antenna, radio

electromagnetic radiation in the wavelength range. Microwave waves Definition electromagnetic radiation in the wavelength range. Examples Microwave tower, Space shuttles, Radars, dopplers

infared Definition Of or relating to the range of invisible radiation wavelengths from about 750 nanometers, just longer than red in the visible spectrum, to 1 millimeter, on the border of the microwave region. Examples Remote, laser pointer

Visible light waves Definition Light waves are the result of vibrations of electric and magnetic fields, and are thus a form of electromagnetic waves. Examples Lightbulbs

electromagnetic radiation that can produce photochemical reactions Ultraviolet rays Definition electromagnetic radiation that can produce photochemical reactions Examples sunburns

Ex-rays Definition electromagnetic radiation of short wavelength produced when high-speed electrons strike a solid target Examples X-ray scanner

Gamma rays Definition Gamma rays have the smallest wavelengths and the most energy of any wave in the electromagnetic spectrum. They are produced by the hottest and most energetic objects in the universe, such as neutron stars and pulsars, supernova explosions, and regions around black holes. On Earth, gamma waves are generated by nuclear explosions, lightning, and the less dramatic activity of radioactive decay.
