Review of Affirmative/Positive Commands: They tell someone what to do. Used with a person you would speak to using the Tú form. *The (+) command form of the verb is created by: Using the él/ella form of the verb. (tú form minus s) Ex. Hablar  Hablas¡Habla! = speak/talk!

Review of Affirmative/Positive Commands: Some verbs have irregular (+) command forms: Venirven Tenerten Decirdi Irve Salirsal Ponerpon Hacerhaz Sersé *These must be memorized* Vin Diesel has 10 weapons eh?!

Make these into (+) commands: Cut (cortar) Clean (limpiar) Take out (sacar) Vacuum (pasar) Set (*poner) ¡Corta! ¡Limpia! ¡Saca! ¡Pasa! ¡Pon!

Negative Informal Commands: Tells someone what NOT to do. Used with people you refer to as Tú. *To form the negative (-) command of AR verbs: Drop the o from the yo form and add es. Add NO before the verb. Ex. (yo) fumo ¡no fumes! = Don’t smoke!

Make these into (-) commands: Don’t cut (cortar) Don’t clean (limpiar) Don’t prepare (preparar) Don’t decorate (decorar) No cortes No limpies No prepares No decores

Negative Informal Commands: To form the negative(-) command of ER/IR verbs: Drop the o from the yo form and add as. Add NO before the verb. Ex. (yo) duermo ¡No duermas! = Don’t sleep! *The irregular (-) verb commands are: Dar no des ser no seas Ir no vayas

Negative Informal Commands: Negative commands of verbs ending in: car, gar, and zar have spelling changes. Sacarno sacesno saques (c to qu) Llegarno llegesno llegues (g to gu) Empezarno empiezesno empieces (z to c)

Make these into (-) commands: Don’t set (poner) Don’t go (*ir) Don’t do/make (hacer) Don’t be (*ser) Don’t take out (*sacar) No pongas No vayas No hagas No seas No saques

Direct Object & Reflexive Pronoun Placement: Direct Object Pronouns (me, te, lo, la, nos, los, las) and Reflexive Pronouns (me, te, se, nos, os, se) are placed: Attached to the end of affirmative (+) commands Ex. Levántate or Cómelo Between No and the verb for negative (-) commands. Ex. No te levantes or No lo comas
