Atmospheric Perspective Tunnel Book Landscapes STEPS: 1. FINISH NAME PLATE, MAKE SKETCHBOOK, & COMPLETE SELF-ASSESSMENT 03/26/14 Planning 2. Look at broken down landscapes 09/10/15 3. Complete different size object worksheet 09/18/15 Decide what kind of landscape you want: 09/18/15 at least 4 layers + a sky / background Draw a rough draft that will guide your next steps, keeping in mind that as objects go back in space they get smaller and less detailed. 09/18/15

~WATERCOLOR PAINTING TIPS~ PAINT WITH COLORED WATER: Never use the paint itself, or you get sloppy shiny blotches (and waste a lot of paint), instead paint from pallet with colored water. NEVER RUB BRUSH ACROSS PAINT CAKE: All you need to do is dip the tip of the brush in the water on-top-of the paint cake. MIX YOUR OWN COLORS!: They always look much better, and you will avoid a clown picture! Use the pallet. HOLD PAINT BRUSH BY FERRULE: The closer to the tip you hold the brush, the more control you have. ONLY USE THE TIP OF BRUSH: don’t use the whole side of the brush unless you are filling a big open area. If you do for details, you loose control and loose clean edges. NEVER SCRUB WITH BRUSH: You will tear apart your paper and make paper balls. LET AN AREA DRY BEFORE WORKING NEXT TO IT: If you have green grass and try to put in a brown tree trunk immediately, the brown and green will leach into each other and make a mess. DO DETAILES LATER: Wait for an area to fully dry, or else any detail will turn into a fuzzy mess. TO MAKE SOMETHING LOOK FURTHER AWAY, ADD MORE WATER TO THE PALLET TO THIN-OUT THE COLOR: Far-away objects look lighter.

Complete different size object worksheet 09/04/14 Draw a rough draft with at least 4 layers + a sky, that will guide your next steps, keeping in mind that as objects go back in space they get smaller and less detailed. 09/06/14 Final Drawing: 4. Make final draft layers (5 of them), neat and well drawn, with detail and texture getting less as you go back 09/11/14 Painting: 5. Practice watercolor painting on rough draft copies 09/15/14 6. Neatly and cleanly paint your final layers, with own mixed colors, getting lighter as they go back 09/18/14
