EMPOWERING EMPLOYMENT MINISTRY First, giving honor to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We would like to thank Pastor Richardson and Deacon Thompson for giving us this opportunity to serve. Good Morning Grace. Several weeks ago, Pastor Richardson raised up an employment ministry, which consist of several HR professionals, who met in New Members class, who had a desire to give back some of the knowledge and experience that we have been blessed with to assist our fellow Grace members. My Name is Lance Chambers and I am one of those HR professionals. Today, I would like to share with you what we, now blessed to lead the Grace Empowering Employment Ministry have proposed. Purpose, Statement and Goals Our Ministry will seek to help those in the Grace and Mt. Vernon community seeking employment become more empowered, employable, productive and self-sufficient in their job search. Help those seeking work identify employment opportunities Publish available job opportunities on the Grace website Prepare Grace and Mt. Vernon community members for job opportunities

Congregational needs will guide our offerings and meeting frequency Goals Congregational needs will guide our offerings and meeting frequency Collaborate with and leverage other Grace Ministries & groups Leverage additional members and resources for mentoring, workshops & job opportunities Tap into community programs and funding In Total Praise! An orientation to Black Baptist Belief and Worship, it is noted how ”Serving the Lord requires serving his people… meeting practical congregational and community needs... providing congregants and surrounding communities with needed services which are also wonderful opportunities to spread God’s Word. “ This is a broad undertaking but with God by our side, we feel the we can be successful in sharing, guiding and helping Grace members become stronger and more capable. “…To whom much is given, much is expected…”

Areas of Focus Through our experience and knowledge, we focus on career development, career change and job preparation. This is accomplished specifically through sessions/seminars on: Job searching Job/Career Change Internet Access Resume Writing/Review Interview Preparedness Career Counseling The Ministry meets regularly, once a month or by appointment. Information is shared electronically via email and the EEM website on the Grace Pages.

Spiritual Guidance The ministry adopted the name, “Empowering Employment Ministry,” with the charge of “…Serving the Lord requires serving his people…meeting practical congregational and community needs….providing congregants and surrounding communities with needed services which are also wonderful opportunities to spread God’s Word.” We are anchored in one of the scriptures: Galatians 6:1-2, “… we are our brother’s keeper, and should bear one another’s burdens…”
