Key workshop finding Two “NESIS workshops” organised in the context of INSPIRE/SEIS events at national and local level D7.3.5 –(D5.2) NESIS and SEIS BASIS WORKSHOP Krakow (PL), 22nd June 2010 during the INSPIRE 2010 Conference “INSPIRE as a Framework for Cooperation” D7.3.6 –(D6.3) Two combined final dissemination actions towards the SEIS Community, respectively within: a SEIS BASIS workshop (Brussels, November 17th) and during one of the sessions of the Conference “Shared Environmental Information System” in Brussels, November 2010, convened as event of the Belgian Presidency These events allowed to strength the links with the SEIS Community and DG-ENV, EEA, JRC and promoting the network towards other potential stakeholders  43 members (Dec. 2010) and to prepare the project follow-up Four National workshops (IS,CZ/SK,LT,SE)

NESIS and SEIS BASIS WORKSHOP Krakow (PL), 22nd June 2010 during the INSPIRE 2010 Conference Three “one hour and half workshop” within INSPIRE Conference NESIS session to present and discuss the results of the State of play and the proposed ICT Roadmap for the implementation of SEIS Outlines of the discussion   SEIS to be implemented in strict connection with the various Environmental Directives, in particular, with INSPIRE, as a starting point for its implementation and become an important issue in the European Agenda NESIS proposal has been positively evaluated: in particular, services analysed (such as for Data Quality, Feedback, Sensor Observation, Notification) have to be considered as an extension of INSPIRE Critical evaluation of the EEA in respect the ICT Roadmap since SEIS implementation should have a different model than INSPIRE Indication for examples of experiences Linked Data-INSPIRE NESIS Network invited to participate in the debate for the SEIS implementation policies

NESIS workshops within the “Sharing Environmental Information Conference” (November 2010) Aimed at presenting and discussing the NESIS proposal “Towards the ICT implementation of SEIS” and to define the network follow-up Outlines of the discussion NESIS is an opportunity to offer to all the interested stakeholders a continuously effective communication and involvement in the SEIS implementation and to identify rules on how the SEIS nodes should operate D6.2 could be taken as a “Handbook” that, after having highlighted what INSPIRE already provides (discovery, view, download), introduces also new issues and possible solutions in order to implement the services that are needed for the management of environmental information Proposal for a Thesaurus Framework for SEIS following the experience of the NATURE-SDIplus Thesaurus Framework (one of the Good Practices in the Catalogue) was considered interesting for SEIS Training initiatives are expected to be important and fruitful
