John Teaches Jesus the Truth John 8:31-47

Never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Romans 12:19

Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.” John 8:34

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6

They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?” … They answered him, “Abraham is our father.” John 8:33, 39

Not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as offspring. Romans 9:7-8

“We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father—even God “We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father—even God.” John 8:41b

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but he sent me. Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word.” John 8:42:43

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him… John 8:31

I am the vine; you are the branches I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly. Colossians 3:16

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:35-36
