II Corinthians 12:12-19 “Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.”

(13) For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong.”

IF THEN We must restore the lost grace of liberal giving. Our generation takes the saving message of Jesus Christ to a lost & dying world, We are going to have great & growing churches, THEN We must restore the lost grace of liberal giving.

We Can Take It Another Step! If we are going to grow Christians into the image of Jesus Christ, we must teach them to give as He gave! Romans 12:1-2; Romans 8:28-29

The Theme Most Spoken About? By Jesus & His Inspired Men? Stewardship & Giving By Preachers & Teachers Today? Not Stewardship & Giving

Class At FHU Lectureship “Why aren’t preachers preaching on the theme of stewardship & faithful giving?” In the class were preachers, elders, & university administrators. 1. “Our preachers are not giving sacrificially themselves; they are not good examples.” 2. “Preachers are afraid they will be fired if they preach on giving.” 3. “Preachers are not being prepared to preach on the subjects of stewardship & giving.”

What is needed is a grassroots restoration of this subject! Acts 20:20,27 (20) And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,” (27) For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.”

“I seek not yours, but you,” (II Cor.12:14) The Facts Are Often These! Preachers are bold on doctrinal themes and the “issues” of the day, but often weak as water when it comes to the theme of giving! When they do, it is apologetically? “I hate to bring this up…” 1. Is our primary interest in meeting budgets & raising funds? 2. Or is it what is going on in the spiritual life of those who give?

The N.T. Portrays Giving As A “Grace,” A Wonderful Opportunity To “Grow” The Finest Investment Of Life, A Laying Up Of Treasures In Heaven When It Is Presented Like That, What Should Be The Result? I Honestly Believe That We Lose Members, Not Because We Ask Too Much Of Them, But Too Little!
