** 5th Grade ** Week of: September 22, 2016 Google Genre Slide Due 9/29, Genre Test 9/30 Math Test 9/30 (Multiplying Whole #’s & Decimals) Stem Club Starts 9/29 Multiplication has begun! This week we reviewed steps for 3x1, 2x2, and multiplying by multiples of 10. Then moved onto 3 digit x 2 digit problems. We will begin multiplying decimals Friday, and will continue through next week. (TEKS 3B, 3E, 3A) This week Students began work with Google Slides within Google Classroom. Students will continue our focus in Genre Study, to include Fiction and Non-Fiction texts. Test on Genre 9/30: Study Materials in Reading Journals: Charts of Genres and information on Google Classroom 5.2, 5 Fig 19 (A) (C)(F) We began our unit on Ancient American Civilization, & how environment shapes the way people (past & present) live. TEKS: 9(A), 8 (B) This week, Scientists are learning about the Water Cycle and creating Green Screen presentations to explain the cycle. TEKS: 5.8(B) Next, week we will begin learning how plants and animals are dependent on each other in the carbon dioxide/oxygen cycle. TEKS: 5.9(D) The nurse will be completing eye exams over the next few weeks. Join PTA Thank you to those of you who attended Grow and Glow. We are diving into the world of fiction writing.
