Sleep Apnea Treatment http://www.sleepapnea-treatment.org

What is Sleep Apnea? Sleep apnea is a sleeping disorder that is characterized by abnormal pauses in the breathing during sleep. The breathing pause may occur for a period of few seconds to minutes. But in most cases it may occur 5 to 30 times or more. Generally, the problem starts with a deep snoring and choking sound.

Types of Sleep Apnea Basically, there are three types of sleep apnea: Central sleep apnea: This is the least occurring sleep apnea. In CSA, brains that regulate the breathing do not function properly and causes impaired breathing. It generally occurs due to some kind of head injury and stroke. Obstructive Sleep apnea: OSA is the commonly occurring sleep apnea. Obstructive sleep apnea primarily occurs between the ages of 35 to 45. It is caused when the soft tissues of the pharynx relaxes and blocks the flow of air. It leads to the obstruction of airways during sleep. Mixed sleep apnea is a combination of obstructive and complex sleep apnea.

Factors responsible for Sleep apnea Sleep apnea occurs when oxygen does not reach to the lungs during sleep. In children, sleep apnea occurs due to the enlarged tonsils. Some of the causes of sleep apnea are: Obesity Aging Enlarged tonsils Common cold Sinus Tonsillitis Hypertension Nose abnormality
