PURPOSE For users to know different sections of the library to know how to get help and assistance to know some of the rules of the library to understand the way information and books are arranged to understand expected behaviour in the library

Introduction to the Regional Library The Oshana Regional Library/Regional Study and Resource Center (RSRC) consists of five sections namely; User services and Outreach Business and Research Information Children Library Services School Library services Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Entrance/Exit (front office) Library layout and expected procedures Entrance/Exit (front office) You get a number (plate/card) and hand in the key for the locker –when you enter the library and you have a bag You push the entrance door (in) You push the exit door (out) You give the number and get the key for the locker Take out you bag from the locker and you must leave the key inside the locker
Circulation and Information Desk 1st /ground floor layout & services Circulation and Information Desk Make your queries here and you will get help from Librarians You check in and out books here You register for library membership card You scan, print and make copies for your documents You can pay overdue fine or lost book/s Book for conference hall and seminar room
Business and Research Information section Here you get the following information: Curriculum vitae (CV) template and writing training Computers for research: internet, electronic database e.g. EBSCHost at http://search.ebscohost.com etc. Business, and SMEs brochures, posters etc. GRN government application form Business books Business development plan templates Business registration form Business journals and magazines etc.
Journals and Newspaper area Read daily local newspapers such as The Namibian, New era etc. Read magazines and Journals
Other information materials at allocated 1st floor Indigenous language books Teenagers fiction & non- fiction books Reference books Afrikaans books Adult fiction books Braille books New arrival (books) Map room/area Take away free information leaflets Coin drop photocopy machine
Public toilets Toilets for adults are outside the library about 20 m west from the entrance Children toilets are located at kids library section NB. Always and dry your hands after using the toilet
Children library section The users of this section are all children from 0-12 years only. Children from 0-5 years should always be accompanied by an adult or a caregiver. Materials/items/equipment: Computers (touch screen) Television (for kids entertainment and education programs) Toys. Books (fiction and non-fiction) Drawing /colouring books, etc. Programs/activities Story telling session—Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays @ 14H00-15H00 Reading Story books to the kids—Tuesdays & Thursdays @15h00-16h00, and Saturdays @ 11H00 School Holiday Programs— to be announced before holidays Homework helper—(by trained Volunteers and library staff members) Basic Computer Training sessions (mostly during holidays and time to be announced) Puppet show Kids DTVs and movie show Reading, Poem, singing and computer games competitions etc.
Computer center 2nd /ground floor layout & services You sign in for using a computer Attend basic computer training Listen to and watch research audio/video clip Print and make copies Watch DStv WI-FI queries Book for a computer lab
Study hall, laptop usage area and study room These are quite reading, research and study areas. Noise is strictly prohibited Study and quite reading Own laptop use, but usage of audio material is strictly prohibited. Always ask for earphones Group study/discussion in the study room only
