Module A Fire Hose And Appliances (4-12) Firefighter III Module A Fire Hose And Appliances (4-12)

a) To reduce the size of a hose: 3-6.1. Identify the adapters and appliances to be used in three specific fire ground situations: (4-12.2) I. Selecting adapters: a) To reduce the size of a hose: i) Determine the size of the current hose line. ii) Determine the size of hose line needed. iii) Connect appropriate reducer to current hose line. iv) Connect desired hose line to reducer.

b) Divide one line into two lines of the same size: 3-6.1. Identify the adapters and appliances to be used in three specific fire ground situations: (4-12.2) b) Divide one line into two lines of the same size: i) Determine the size of current hose line. ii) Determine the size of hose line needed. iii) Connect proper size wye to the current hose line. iv) Connect desired hose lines to wye. v) Station a firefighter at the wye to control the valves

-6.1. Identify the adapters and appliances to be used in three specific fire ground situations: (4-12.2) c) Divide one line into several lines of different sizes: i) Determine size of current hose line. ii) Determine size of hose lines needed. iii) Connect proper size water thief to current hose line. iv) Connect desired hose lines to water thief. v) Station firefighter at wye to control valves.

d) Supply a single hose line with two or more hose lines: -6.1. Identify the adapters and appliances to be used in three specific fire ground situations: (4-12.2) d) Supply a single hose line with two or more hose lines: i) Determine size of supply hose lines. ii) Determine size of hose line to be supplied. iii) Connect supply hose line to Siamese. iv) Connect supplied hose line to Siamese.

e) Connect two couplings of same sex together: -6.1. Identify the adapters and appliances to be used in three specific fire ground situations: (4-12.2) e) Connect two couplings of same sex together: i) Determine sex of couplings. ii) Select a double male if the sex is female, or a double female if the sex is male. iii) Connect the couplings to the appropriate fitting.
