Информационные технологии в обучении ИЯ для специальности 5В011900 «Иностранный язык: два иностранных языка»

Explanatory Note This course is designed to help students to get acquainted with the resources available on Internet for EFL (English as a Foreign Language) classrooms with a particular lesson plan structure and reflect on the way those resources and opportunities are applicable and effective in EFL classroom. Students will work on the assignments using the presented resources, write lesson plans with the use of those websites and tools, explore some of the applications independently and reflect on their progress in the course and/or the probable usage of the presented tools/ websites/ applications.

Goal of the course is to make future teachers aware of the opportunities technology and internet presents them with, familiarize them with some of the tools, websites and applications that are presented during the course, and shape and/ or modify students’ thinking about technology and internet in a classroom or even introduce the notion of making the use of technology and internet possible in the classroom.

Objectives of the course are to create an environment where students can: Be able to create lesson plans Create assessment reflective of the stated lesson plan goals Get acquainted with some of the Web 2 applications Create podcasts Use Google Maps Create Virtual Tours Be acquainted with APA and MLA Citation styles and Copyright and Plagiarism notion

Expected results: Students are able and comfortable with making lesson plan according to the required structure Be able to create assessment reflective of the stated lesson plan goals Be acquainted with at least two Web 2 applications and way those are applicable in EFL classroom Be able to create podcasts and ways those are applicable in EFL classroom Be able to use Google Maps and find ways Google Maps are applicable in EFL classroom Be able to create virtual tours both in terms of technological and educational aspects of the process Be able to site sources in either APA or MLA styles
