AP ? Of the Day

The Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (aprotocol to the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer) is an international treaty designed to protect the ozone layer by phasing out the production of numerous substances that are responsible for ozone depletion

Potential FRQ’s for 2015 Read over the list provided. We will watch some videos to support these topics. Warning – it is all super depressing. Sorry.

Gulf Oil Spill Gulf Oil Spill effects Remediation and a more unusual remediation Chemical dispersants & Corexit

Tar Sands Tar Sands – very, very bad  Tar sands (also referred to as oil sands) are a combination of clay, sand, water, and bitumen, a heavy black viscous oil.  Tar sands can be mined and processed to extract the oil-rich bitumen, which is then refined into oil.

Mercury Deposition Mercury Deposition - biomagnification

Bees Bee Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) - Pesticides

Bats White Nose Syndrome – Bye, bye bats?

Permafrost Thawing Permafrost – more bad news 
