SITA Current Hosting Slide

SITA Hosting Problems No DBA SLA Server performance slow. Slide No one is responsible for backups No support on application & database servers Refresh of test database is chargeable No one to create printers. Server performance slow. Servers were sized for 30 – 40 users per college. Much more users per college (e.g. Orbit over 100). I-Enablers being used – should be on different server – FETS network. Test databases on same servers. “Run away processors” – no proactive monitoring (no DBA SLA). Slide

SITA Hosting Problems No reporting structure on network & hardware Colleges reporting to ITS ITS difficult to get hold of SITA personnel. Appointment not kept at SITA – (to collect backups). Change request on firewall take long DHET personnel not always available to sign the change request. SITA personnel not always available. E-mail spam problem BMS servers are being black listed due to bulk e-mails. Testing : setting up one of the BMS servers at mail server Slide
