Jesus Heals the Ten Lepers
Presentation transcript:

And it came about while He was on the way to Jerusalem, that He was passing between Samaria and Galilee. And as He entered a certain village, ten leprous men who stood at a distance met Him; and they raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” And when He saw them, He said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And it came about that as they were going, they were cleansed. Luke 17:11-14

The Problem

And it came about while He was on the way to Jerusalem, that He was passing between Samaria and Galilee. And as He entered a certain village, ten leprous men who stood at a distance met Him; and they raised their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” And when He saw them, He said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And it came about that as they were going, they were cleansed. Luke 17:11-14

The Problem The Solution Fatal; incurable by man; put one “at a distance.” The Solution

The Problem The Solution Divine Grace Fatal; incurable by man; put one “at a distance.” The Solution Adherence to the word of God (the Law of Moses). Divine Grace

The Problem The Solution Divine Grace Fatal; incurable by man; put one “at a distance.” The Solution Adherence to the word of God (the Law of Moses). Divine Grace Mercy & compassion to those who are afflicted.

Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice, and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine -- where are they? Was no one found who turned back to give glory to God, except this foreigner?” Luke 17:15-18

The Expectation

Now one of them, when he saw that he had been healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice, and he fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him. And he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But the nine -- where are they? Was no one found who turned back to give glory to God, except this foreigner?” Luke 17:15-18

The Expectation Even when we do what God’s word says, we still need to be thankful & grateful for what He has done. We face a greater dilemma than leprosy…SIN. We must do what the word of God instructs. We need God’s mercy for our “healing.” We must show gratitude for His forgiveness.
