In PE we will be developing movement through sequences and dance. Year 1 Term 4 Overview In Maths we will be counting in 5s and in 2s as well as continuing to develop addition and subtraction skills to 30. In PSHE we will continue to think about the term ‘goal’ and exploring different steps we need to take to reach our goals. In English we will be looking at Brown Bear by Bill Martin Jr and illustrated by Eric Carle. We will also be doing some fiction writing through the story Jack and the Beanstalk. After that we will be writing letters to the queen linked to the book The Queen’s Knickers by Nicholas Allan. In science we will be continuing to learn about animals. We will be learning about different animal families such as reptiles and mammals. We will be learning about diet and habitats and comparing these to humans. We will be visiting Court Farm to see animals in their environment. In Phonics, we will be learning Phase 5 of Letters and Sounds. We will be practising to identify these sounds within real and pseudo words. In PE we will be developing movement through sequences and dance. We will continue looking at why our world is special in RE. With this, we will be looking into different creation stories. In History we will be comparing the reign of Queen Elizabeth the 1st and Queen Victoria. In DT we will be learning how to sew. We will be sewing a pair of knickers fit for the Queen! This is linked to our work in English.
