The Aim of the English Week To create the conditions for the disclosure of the creative abilities of the pupils in the extra-curricular activities in a foreign language with different levels of training; To develop students' interest in learning a foreign language.

Tasks of the English Week To systematize the knowledge, to enhance their practice, to promote the development of language skills and knowledge of a language picture of the world. To carry out personal - oriented approach to education and training of students, when the needs, opportunities and student addictions are taken into account. To involve the students in the events of the week, offering them tasks and activities of the feasible levels.

The Urgency of the English Week the week promotes the expansion and enrichment of the acquired academic, language and speech experience in the course of mastering foreign languages.

Stages of the English Week The First Stage: Discuss the plan of the Week. - Distribute the duties among English teachers considering the preparation of certain events. - Draw up the program of activities for all the days of the week with the exact date and venue. - Prepare the material for language competitions, contests and other events. -Think through thematic design of the corridors, classrooms, an assembly hall where the events are held.

- Make the information corner. - Release the program of the games. - Each class releases the wall newspaper. - Choose photographers, correspondents to cover the events of the week in the school newspaper, and on the school website. - Discuss the composition of the jury, as well as the awarding certificates of the best teams, the participants - winners and the individual active participants

The Second Stage is Conducting of English Week The required condition is to create the atmosphere of festiveness and ease. The pupils should feel satisfaction and pleasure from their participation in the celebration

The List of Approximate Activities The exhibitions of wall newspapers, projects, riddles and crosswords; Video tours “ Great Britain “, “ London “, “ Madam Tussaud’s Museum “; Poetry Day; Day of Music; Photo exhibition of pupils; Quiz “ English-Speaking Countries and their Capitals”; Contest “ The Best Translation”; The ABC Party;

Day of Proverbs and Sayings; Meeting with Fairy Tales; Day of English and American Traditions; Theatre Day ( dramatizations and performances); Etiquette and English; Day of Letters to Pen-friends to the UK and the USA Discussion “ Youth Organizations of the USA and Great Britain “; Conversation “ Life and Creativity of Famous English and American Writers and Poets”;

The Third Stage – the Results of the Week It is desirable to release information bulletin and report about the achievements of the participants. It is desirable to release information bulletin. During the week all the events are covered by the pupils on the school website
