What we did Lab Observation We prepared a field observation with the following steps: Give people photos, paper sheets, post-its and pens; Ask them to organize the photos the way they do it with their own photos; As a group was found they were asked to place them in a sheet; Finally, they would have to write the name of the groups in the post-it and place it in the right sheet.
What we did Lab Observation
What we did Lab Observation Advantages we were able to see how people organize their photos they had real photos, just like at home they had some random photos, but somehow they could be grouped we asked them to talk loud as they were finding the groups
What we did Lab Observation Disadvantages users were not personally related to the photos as so, they didn’t make the exact same groups they would have, if the photos were familiar BUT… we asked them, in the end of the session would they organize the photos today, and the results were quite similar
What we did Lab Observation Results people divided the photos by places first and they made a few subdivisions based on possible events they did this division because they didn’t know which events were on the photos BUT… usual division is: event - date - place
What we produced Tasks Scenarios Monitoring Groups Update
What we produced Tasks Task 1: Visualize the photos of the Summer of 2012, 16th July, from the tour to Lisbon. Task 2: Take a picture of your family, keep it in the album named “Anna’s Birthday” and share the photo with friends. Task 3: Organize all the pictures taken on the Summer 2011, accordingly with the visited places. Task 4: Search all the photos taken in January 2009, about the USA trip.
What we produced Scenarios Scenario 1: Anthony’s birthday is on 16th July. This year he took lots of pictures from his walk to Lisbon with his family. Later, he decided to see them, just to remember the day. Scenario 2: On the birthday party of grandmother Anna, a picture of the whole family was taken, to remember the 90th anniversary of Anna. The picture was placed in the album named “Anna’s Birthday”. Later, she showed the photo to her friends from the park.
