What you will need Cardboard String Shoelace or cord Coat hanger or sticks for control Material, fur fabric, or paint to cover cardboard Hot glue gun

Draw size and shape of monkey

Cut the body pieces out of cardboard *Head and body *Two arms *Two legs *A tail Use a hole punch or large needle to make holes for joining pieces and also to attach strings Two arms Head and body Two Legs Tail

Join pieces together using cord or shoe lace and a hot glue gun to seal ends of cord

Cover all pieces with fur fabric, material or paint

Completely cover all cardboard. Can use plasticine or paper-mache to make the face Tie four lengths of string(approx. 50cm) to head knees and tail of the monkey at all these points Ready for attaching to control Cut one string about 1m long for the arms

Making the control A cross control – Tie one string from the head to the center of the cross Tie one string from the tail to the back of the cross Tie a leg string to each side of the cross Tie a string from one hand and take this over the front of the cross control and down to the other hand A simpler coat hanger control – just use three strings One string from the head to the center of coat hanger One string from the tail to one end Another string from a hand, up through the opposite end of the hanger and down to the other hand This string will work both hands and leg hang free
