August 9 Thank you for not chewing gum  Today’s Agenda: Objective: Bell work Lab Safety Contract Lab Safety Skits Materials: Pencil science notebook science folder Objective: Today we will practice displaying safe behavior and perform our skits. Daily Question: What do you think is the most important safety rule?

Lap Equipment Review Beaker: used for measuring and mixing liquids, measured in mL. Triple Beam Balance: used to measure mass of an object, measured in grams. Goggles: used to protect your face during a lab. Graduated Cylinder: used to measure liquids, read the bottom of the curve or the meniscus. Stopper: used for closing off a flask or test tube. Infrared Radiation Gun (IR Gun): used for measuring temperature in degrees Celsius °C. Hand Lens: used for looking at small objects and making them bigger. Pipet/dropper: used for measuring drops of liquid.

Students will read and review lab safety. Skits Lab Safety Students will read and review lab safety. In a group of 2-3 students you will create a 30 sec-1 minute skit based off one of the lab safety procedures in your lab safety hand out.
