Making Jelly Have you eaten jelly before? Do you like jelly? What equipment do you think we will need to make it?

What will we need to make it? Equipment What will we need to make it? Jelly crystals- Solid, liquid or gas? Boiling water- Solid, liquid or gas? Cold tap water- Solid, liquid or gas?

Bowl Fridge Wooden spoon Ladle Measuring Cup Plastic cup

Prediction What will happen when we add the boiling water to the jelly crystals? What will happen when we add the cold tap water to the jelly crystals and boiling water? What will happen when we put the mixture in the fridge?

Procedure 1. Put Jelly crystals in the bowl. 2. Put 250mls boiling water in bowl.

4.Put 200mls cold tap water in bowl. 3. Mix until dissolved. 4.Put 200mls cold tap water in bowl. 5. Mix well until dissolved.

5. Using ladle pour mixture into cups. 6. Place cups in the fridge for at least 4 hours (overnight if possible). 7. Enjoy your delicious jelly!

Results What happened when we added the boiling water to the jelly crystals? What happened when we added the cold tap water to the jelly crystals and boiling water? What happened when we put the mixture in the fridge?

Jelly is a … We mixed jelly crystals (solid) with boiling water (gas) and cold water (liquid), which made jelly crystals dissolve into liquid and then when placed in the fridge it made jelly! (solid)
