Objective Development of a Smart Meter Based on Zigbee communication. Purpose of this Smart Meter is as Follows:- Power Control Methods Based on Different Tariff. Tripping the Circuit based on overcurrent and overloading. Remote programmable control and monitoring using a Zigbee Communication network.

A network for this application We want to develop an monitor the billing parameters Monitoring and control station PAN Coordinator ZIGBEE NETWORK Where billing parameter are transferred to coordinator S.M 1 S.M.2 S.M.3 S.M.4 S.M = Smart Meter

Research Target We want to develop a system where we will transfer the tariff rates to the smart meter through remote control and monitoring module with ZigBee based networking system . In this system the smart meter will select the lowest tariff utility and the meter will connect to that utility through relay switching network. In this system the purpose of ZigBee communication are:- Transfer of tariff rates to the smart meter. Control commands to smart meter for utility selection. SM will handle failures in case the current in appliance goes beyond its rated limit.
