5 Paragraph Essay

Organization- 5 paragraphs Introduction: Hook/Background/Thesis 3 body paragraphs: Topic Sentence/Sensory language/Transitions Conclusion: Restate Thesis/Effective Wrap-up

Introduction Hook: grabs the reader’s interest…makes the reader want to read on!!! Background Info: sets the stage-couple sentences Thesis: Lists three points of what you will be writing about

3 Body Paragraphs Topic sentence: tells what the paragraph will be about/ first key point from thesis statement Explain reasons Add in description using sensory/figurative language End paragraph with transition: flows from one idea to the next

Conclusion Restate thesis: remind readers what you described in essay( 3 main points) Effective Ending: wrap-up Wrap back to hook Explain importance/lesson
