How to Write a 5 paragraph Essay L. Hoenshell

For example: Introduction There are many reasons why Summer is my favorite season. The weather is always warm in the summer. We don’t have any school during those months. I like to play outside. These are the reasons I enjoy summer the most. You start your paper by telling the reader what you will be talking about. For example:

Body Body Body From your introduction, you chose your 3 main topics that support your writing prompt. From the previous page, I have three main body headings. FOR EXAMPLE: THE WEATHER IS ALWAYS WARM WE DON’T HAVE ANY SCHOOL I LIKE TO PLAY OUTSIDE

Body #1 In you body paragraph…you must support your main idea with supporting details. Fact Reasons Ideas Examples Details The weather is always warm in the summer. You can walk anywhere that you want to go and it will be pleasant. You can plan picnics and outings to the lake or pool. You never have to worry about snow or freezing cars locking.

Body #2 Next you need to write about your second main topic from your introduction…. For example: Summer is the greatest because we don’t have any school. I like to sleep late and not have any plans for the day. It is a time to relax and enjoy your time away from learning and deadlines. There are no tests during the summer.

Body #3 Lastly, you need to write about your third main topic from your introduction. For example: During the summer, I love to play outside. I usually swim on the swim team, play soccer and organize tennis matches in the neighborhood. Sometimes I just like to lay around and watch . my friends play their sports.

Conclusion The final paragraph is the conclusion. It must include the 3 main body paragraph topics. For example: Summer is the greatest season. The weather is always warm and there is never any school for the students. It is so nice to be able to walk around nice and comfortable. Also, I enjoy playing sports outside when the weather is good.

Put it all together and you have a 5 paragraph essay Introduction Body Conclusion Remember…..the more practice you have with the 5 paragraph essay, the better writer you will become. These essays will organize your writing so that it is easier to read and follow along.
