Objective of the project Shymkent International Airport has set itself the strategic goal "to become the largest air transport hub in Kazakhstan and the leading transit center in Central Asia, between Europe and Asia." Prospects Investment projects and commercial contacts connect the South Kazakhstan region with more than a hundred countries of the world. The region has more than 150 enterprises with foreign capital participation. There will be provided the growth of foreign investments in the region. Opportunities South Kazakhstan region is one of the populated regions of the country with a population of about 2.5 million people. Favorable natural and climate conditions allow the airport to operate 365 days a year.

Brief information Shymkent airport was built in the 1960's. Nowadays there is only one flight strip which has a negative impact on the sending and receiving of aircrafts, besides that the strip is on the balance of the Ministry of Defence. According to data of JSC "Airport Shymkent“ passenger flow was increased from 380 ths. to 550 ths. people in the period from 2012 to 2015. The existing terminal has a capacity of only 100 passengers per hour. Due to increase of passenger flow and cargo transportation it is necessary to upgrade the airport by building a modern passenger terminal with throughput capacity of not less than 400 passengers per hour, as well as a cargo terminal
