Group task – 30 mins Outdoor learning – nature as Continuous Provision Plan termly rich learning activities using outdoors Link rich learning to numeracy as a starting point List books (fiction/nonfiction) that could support learning

‘Seize the Seasons’ Do the right thing at the right time Bring outdoors in – rather than indoors out Revisit skills termly – embedding and extending knowledge

Investigate digitally and hands on Use digital cameras to get up close to nature Stimulus for talk, writing, art, investigation Go on trips to a variety of locations near and further afield Encourage parents to make the most of nature

All year round – webs, weaving wondering … ambitious capable learners Mathematical Development healthy, confident individuals Activity idea Seasonal weaving. Experiment with a wide range of natural materials throughout the year. Different shape and scale of frames. Collaborative or individual. ethical, informed citizens Enterprising creative contributors Literacy links

What loose parts free play offers children Stocking your play space with loose parts offers children daily inspiration endless possibilities a chance to think encouragement to be creative

End of Phase Assessment Use FPP as baseline (compact) statutory reception Can use FPP to track progress – but be aware full profile has a LOT of ladders Target setting use the revised outcomes – in place since September 2015 Teacher assessment – rounded judgement overtime WG due to send out a letter soon!
