ECE indicators The OECD defines compliance as the behavior response to regulatory requirements; Environment Canada defines compliance as a state of conformity with the law. Enforcement can be defined as the set of actions that governments or others take to correct or halt behavior that fails to conform with environmental requirements ECE Indicators- ”measurable pieces of information that inform us about the status of an area’s environmental health” Performance indicators for ECE programs, or for any government program, describe a level of activity or commitment made by government, and a set of results which contribute to an important social goal such as reducing or preventing environmental pollution.

ECE indicators in Serbia Information System and Manner of Data Submission The information system shall be run by the Environmental agency:the information system shall procure formation,classification,maintenance,presentation and distribution for numerical,descriptive and spatial data bases on:quality of the environmental media,monitoring of the status and protection of the environment,legal,administrative and organizational and strategic measures,scientific –technical information about planning measures of prevention and exchange of information with other information systems etc.

ECE indicators in Serbia Integrated Polluter Cadastre;Environmental Status Report An integrated pollutant cadastre shall be maintained in accordance with the Law on environmental protection o monitor qualitative and quanititative changes in the environment and measures for the protection of the environment. The integrated polluter cadastre shall be maintained by the Environmental agency Environmental status report- The Government shall annually report to the National assembly on environmental status in the Republic; competent authority of the Autonomous province or local self-governance unit shall report biannually to the assembly on the environmental status at their territory

ECE indicators in Serbia Contents of Environmental Status Report The environmental status report shall be published in official bulletins of the Republic, autonomous province and local self-governance unit. The report shall to particularly contain data about: -Status and changes in the environment -Implementation of strategy,National programme and action plans -Rehabilitation plans and other measures undertaken -Financing the system of environment protection -Priority obligations and measures in the area of environmental protection -Other data which are relevant for management of natural values and environmental protection
