Cells Learning objectives: To know: the functions of the different parts of a cell; the differences between animal and plant cells; the differences between.
The Cell: What are its parts?. NUCLEUS Controls all the chemical reactions that happen in the cell. Contains the cell’s DNA.
This project and its actions were made possible due to co-financing by the European Fund for the Integration of Third-Country Nationals Plant and animal.
Building a life 4a) Write down the cell parts that both plant and animal cells have. b) Write down the cell parts that plant cells have but animal cells.

.. Plant cells can vary in shape, size, and function but they all have features in common. With a microsope these are the things you could see: Cell Wall.

The bodies of all plants and animals are made up of tiny living units (like building blocks) called cells. Most plants and animals’ bodies have millions of cells. There are many different types of plant and animal cells.

Plant cells Chloroplasts- full of chlorophyll, which traps light needed for photosynthesis Mitochondria-respiration happens in these Nucleus-controls what the cell does Cell wall- covers the membrane and gives strength to the cell Cell membrane- controls what gets in and comes out of the cell Vacuole-large space full of fluid Cytoplasm- lots of membranes, made from proteins and fats

Animal cells Cell membrane – controls what goes in and what comes out of the cell Nucleus –controls what the cell does and carries the genetic information Cytoplasm- all chemical reactions happen in here Mitochondria-respiration happens in these

Found in plant cells only: Plant and animal cells cell membrane nucleus cytoplasm mitochondria animal cell plant cell Found in plant cells only: chloroplasts vacuole cell wall
