PEACEBUILDER CLUB PROGRAM

PEACEBUILDER CLUBS Promote the Rotary Peace Fellowship Apply peace principles to service projects Connect with the Community Support Economic Opportunity Ensure Sustainability Engage in peace education

ROTARY PEACE FELLOWS Each year, Rotary selects up to 100 individuals from around the world to receive fully funded academic fellowships at one of our peace centers.

ROTARY PEACE FELLOWS Applications are completed online via the https://www.rotary.org/en site to be received by the RI Peace Center by July 1 each preceding year. (The 2018 Rotary Peace Fellowship online application form is now available from the Rotary International website) https://my.rotary.org/en/peace-fellowship-application

Districts endorse candidates WHERE DO THEY COME FROM? Clubs recruit candidates From their districts or any other district/country and forward those names to the District Rotary Peace Fellow Chair Districts endorse candidates The District Rotary Peace Fellow Chair and subcommittee interview candidates Recommended candidates are forwarded to the Rotary Peace Center committee

RI Peace Center committee selects candidates From 400-500 applications for the Masters or Professional Certificate programs in Peace and Conflict Resolution TRF funds Rotary Peace Centers at six universities America, Australia, England, Japan, Sweden, Thailand

WHO ARE THE ROTARY PEACE FELLOWS? There are 1000+ graduates of Rotary’s prestigious education program They are engaged in peace education programs and development projects many of which are located in high-risk environments

HOW TO BECOME A PEACE BUILDER CLUB Review the information on Peacebuilder Clubs on the District 5240 Peace Page Select a Club Peace Chair Notify the District Peacebuilder Club Coordinator of the name of the Club Peace Chair.

HOW TO BECOME A PEACEBUILDER CLUB Update your club information on the District 5240 website with the name of your Club Peace Chair Complete the Peacebuilder Club Activities including those from Category A and Category B

HOW TO BECOME A PEACEBUILDER CLUB Inform the District Peacebuilder Club Coordinator that your club has completed the required activities You will receive a Peacebuilder Club banner for your club Continue to support Peacebuilding Activities throughout the Rotary Year
