WHEN TERM OF SERVICE WAS OVER MIDDLE CLASS INCLUDED FARMERS, SKILLED CRAFTSWORKERS AND SOME TRADESPEOPLE THE LOWEST SOCIAL CLASS INCLUDED FARMHANDS, INDENTURED SERVANTS AND SLAVES INDENTURED SERVANTS SIGNED CONTRACTS TO WORK WITHOUT WAGES TO ANYONE WHO WOULD PAY FOR THEIR PASSAGE OVER WHEN TERM OF SERVICE WAS OVER MIDDLE CLASS INCLUDED FARMERS, SKILLED CRAFTSWORKERS AND SOME TRADESPEOPLE THE LOWEST SOCIAL CLASS INCLUDED FARMHANDS, INDENTURED SERVANTS AND SLAVES

THE GREAT AWAKENING RELIGIOUS MOVEMENT OF 1730’S-40’S PREACHERS LIKE EDWARDS CALLED ON PEOPLE TO REEXAMINE THEIR LIVES AND RELIGIOUS COMMITMENT PEOPLE FELT THEY FORGOT THEIR RELIGION IN THEIR ZEAL FOR ECONOMIC PURSUITS IMPACT- SPREAD DEMOCRATIC FEELINGS IN THE COLONIES- WOULD LEAD COLONISTS TOO CHALLENGE BRIT AUT.

EDUCATION IN COLONIES NEW ENGLAND- MASS SET UP PUBLIC SCHOOLS SUPP BY TAXES- BOTH RICH AND POOR COULD RECEIVE EDUCATION MIDDLE/SOUTHERN- CHURCHES AND FAMILIES WOULD SET UP PRIVATE SCHOOLS PUPILS HAD TO PAY- SO ONLY WEALTHY KIDS COULD AFFORD SCHOOL SOUTHERN- SOME KIDS HAD PRIVATE TUTORS- SOME SENT KIDS ABROAD.
