Be water wise and save this vital resource from going down the drain.

Water is everywhere...

Earth is called the “water planet” Earth is called the “water planet”. More water than land covers the earth’s surface. Salt water fills the oceans. Freshwater flows in rivers and lakes. Water freezes into ice and snow. It is found in air as clouds and fog. Water is all around us & its cover 70 percent of the earth’s surface.

Introducing Water

Water or H2O, is a colourless, odourless, tasteless liquid having a melting point of 0ºC and a boiling point of 100ºC at standard atmospheric pressure. It can become ice (solid) and steam (Gas). Water is the most commonly found substance on earth and is present in many other substances.

Water is very important for life Water is very important for life. We need water to drink, to wash our hands, to cook, to water plants and many other things.

Without water, the plants would die and people and animals would go thirsty.

Landscaping Up to 50 percent of household water consumption goes toward outdoor use, and an estimated 50 percent of that is lost to evaporation or runoff caused by overwatering.

Washing Machine 41 gallons (155 liters). High-efficiency machines can use less than 30 gallons a load. If you are still using an old washer, you can save water by washing Full loads of laundry and using the appropriate load size setting.

Do you leave the tap on when you brush your teeth?

Well...... You waste 5 litres of water. You only need ¼ litre!

Is taking a bath saves more than taking a shower?

It usually takes a bath 70 gallons to fill a bathtub, while a five minute shower uses 10 to 25 gallons.

How many gallons (or liters) of water are wasted in average home each year due to leaky household pipes?

11,000 gallons (41,600 liters). According to the U. S 11,000 gallons (41,600 liters). According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, leaky pipes waste enough water each year for every household to fill up a backyard swimming pool. Toilet and faucets are common culprits.

70% of the human body is made up of water. At just 2% dehydration your performance decreases by around 20%. We should drink at least 1½ litres of water a day.

So…. What are you waiting for. Let start drinking water.

The UN estimates that by 2025, 75% of the world population won’t have reliable, clean water.
