Conclusion Paragraph Notes

What is the purpose of a conclusion paragraph? The purpose of a conclusion paragraph is to restate what you said in your essay and to sufficiently bring the essay to a close. The conclusion paragraph should be one of the shortest paragraphs in your essay. Even though you need to briefly restate what you wrote about in your essay, you DO NOT have to restate EVERYTHING.

Parts of a conclusion paragraph: RESTATE and REWORD your thesis statement! Remember: Your thesis statement is your claim. Remind the reader of the argument you were making in your essay. You do not simply want to “copy and paste” your thesis statement from your intro paragraph. Make sure that you reword it. 2. Restate your three body paragraphs in THREE individual sentences. 3. Conclude the essay by wither giving a definitive comment on your argument or giving the reader something to ponder about your argument. Parts of a conclusion paragraph:
