Terms To Know

Christ- from the Greek word “ christos’ meaning “the Anointed One” Resurrection- the rising of Jesus from the dead.

Apostle- from the Greek term “One Sent out” and the Hebrew term “Siliah” meaning “ one who is to complete the task or acts in the place of the sender” They give witness to the resurrection

Disciple- from Latin “discipulus” meaning “student” Disciple- from Latin “discipulus” meaning “student” . A term for any student or follower of a particular teacher. Scripture- sacred writings

Testament- an agreement or last will Gospel- from the Old English “godspel” meaning “good news” . The good news of what God has done in and through Jesus and the Cross.

Patriarch- one of the founders of the ancient Hebrew families in the bible: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
