Creating a Basic Search on

Saving a search, or an article, or creating an alert

Once you’ve created an account on the database, you can save your search history save useful article records create alerts to have new articles on the topic sent to your email address

CINAHL or PsycINFO The Save Searches/Alerts option appears above the Search History box

CINAHL or PsycINFO To save an article record click on the blue folder icon at the right hand end of the record

British Nursing Database or ASSIA Save search/alert appears on the right hand side under the search box. Click then choose your option from the menu.

British Nursing Database or ASSIA To save an article record, tick the box at the start of an article record or multiple records. Then click the Save option at the top of the results list, on the right.

PubMed To save your search click on Create alert under the search box.

PubMed To save an article record/records, tick the box next to the ones you want then click on Send to at the top right of the results list. Choose My Bibliography to save results on the database.

AMED or HMIC To save one search click the box next to the search and then click Save. To save all the searches in your history click Save all.

AMED or HMIC To save an article record, click + My Projects. To save multiple records, tick the boxes next to each record then click Add to My Projects at the top right of the results list.

Remember When you save a search you’re saving the search terms and not the results If you’re interested in an article, save the record and not the article number as numbers will have changed next time you log in.
