Principles of Goal Setting Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Time-Based

Specific Means that the goal needs to have language or words that identify what the goal is specifically rather than generally. 

Measurable Measurable means that the goal needs to have a quantity applied to it in terms of how much, how many, or time spent performing an activity.

Achievable Can you really reach your goal? Is it obtainable? Does it have progression built into it?

Realistic Can you ice skate in July? Can you run ten miles if you’ve never run before? Is your goal possible to reach?
