Presentation transcript:

Garden Soap Homemade soap can make a wonderful gift. Customise your soaps and create beautiful smells and colours using fresh ingredients from the garden or kitchen. You will need: Block of melt and pour soap base (available from craft stores, Amazon etc.) Microwave Soap flavours e.g. lemon zest, fresh herbs finely chopped, fresh or dried lavender or flowers, pureed fruits e.g. strawberry Soap moulds Bowl, wooden spoon and small food processor. 1. Chop the herbs, flowers etc. into small pieces using a food processor. Starting with a small amount, cut the soap base into small pieces and place into a microwave safe bowl. Ask an adult to melt the soap for 30 s on high heat. Allow to cool slightly so that it is a safe temperature to work with. Quickly add your soap flavour to the melted soap base and mix thoroughly. 2. After mixing, carefully pour the liquid soap into the soap moulds and allow to cool overnight at room temperature (or for 1 hour in the fridge). 3. Once completely cool, carefully remove the soaps from the mould and package, ready to be sold at the You Grow-They Grow sale. Why don’t you make lots of soap flavours ready to sell at the You Grow-They Grow sale? You could add essential oils, colours and fragrances to your soap, or make soaps in different shapes and sizes; try a few things and see what works for you. A strategic health initiative from Project HOPE UK
