Designers all about learning introduces Study Buddy cube EF 152 Spring, 2017 – b-04 April 6, 2017 Inventors: Luke Annen Ashley Chen David Horst Arianna Worthy

Customer and product selection High school S.T.E.M students High school teachers in science related subjects Recommendations: Stimulating outside of the colors and equations Aesthetically appealing; themed cubed with designs Selection of Product: Many high school students intrigued by rubrics cube Tied in the concept of a rubrics cube and related it to science and studying

Conceptual Design Cubics! Physics in a Cube based solely on Physics concepts Physics equations attached to the surface area of cube Pieces have ability to attach and detach from pieces Built from wood blocks cut into varying shapes Projected size to be 3in.x3in.x3in. Total Volume: 27 in.^3 Assemble the cube in quickest time with correct equations coordinating with neighboring pieces

Prototype Study Buddy Cube has templates for all science related subjects Cubics! does not attach and detach to other pieces Made from PLA plastic; more durable and long lasting Prototype is scaled down ½ of toy size: 1.5in.x1.5in.x1.5in. Volume= in.^3 Assemble the cube in fastest time with corresponding equation sides matching Option to add equations on all sides to increase difficulty

Customer feedback 1. 7 out of 10 rating 2. Would buy toy 1. Compact; travel friendly 2. Colors 3. Not as easy at first glance 1. Can be too challenging 2. Easy to lose pieces 3. After solving cube, not very useful 1. 7 out of 10 rating 2. Would buy toy 3. Would not pay above $5

Cost and time estimates -PLA Plastic: $.05 per 𝑖𝑛. 3 -Silhouette Clear Sticker Paper: $.87 per sheet -Total Cost: $1.04 per unit PLA Plastic: $.05 per in^3 -Silhouette Clear Sticker Paper: $4.79 per pack (8 sheets) -Total Cost: $1,948.75 -3-D Print: 30-40 minutes -Labeling: 20 minutes -Total time for 1 cube is 4-5hrs.

Summary 1. Smoother assembly 2. Attachable pieces for easier assembly 3. Larger in size 3. Different concepts on outside of cube 2. Make out of ninja flex 1. Different shapes outside of cube
