THE SOCIAL CONTRACT HOMEWORK TASK Date Set: 1St April 2015 Date Due Thursday 16th April 2015 Task: Comparative Essay Length: 500 words

Why do we need Government? TASK SUMMARY Two great philosophers Rousseau & Hobbes are influential in exploring the topic of why humanity needs to be governed. They present two very different perspectives. In a response of about 500 words you are to compare and contrast their perspectives on government and explain the idea of the social contract. Minimum 5 different resources Bibliography (MLA) format. Intext Citation is required, in addition to a bibliography. Refer to the video on SP Media – The Social Contract. You should watch this video first to get a feel for the topic.
