Task cannot be closed and sent to the customer Remaining parts need to arrive before closing the task A „split consignment“ can be detected in the planning screen an indication (red / blue icons) Purpose of the Procedure As a general rule, 3M does not want consignments to be delivered if there are remaining items known to be open M3 hub setting must be „Ignore split shipment“ = NO Consignments shall be as complete as possible before being delivered to customers. Only in case of really missing = lost packages, a partial delivery shall be made

1: Plan the wave add all trailers to the processing wave which contain advised shipments for the same ship day
2: Check Shipment Documents Monitor Open the shipment documents monitor & select wave Request missing packing list by system button If a missing packing list does not appear, request re-print to the shipping location / 3M Business Logistics Service Manual shipments do not require a packing list
Segregate a Split Shipment from a Consignment Which case? A consignment has one or several split shipments. You can „release“ it from the split shipments to get it a regular consignment for immediate delivery. This creates a second consignment catching all the split shipments to the same address, awaiting fulfillment. How? In „Planning“ open the lane, then the Consignment (click on it). Click onto the scissor symbol => that „cuts off“ the split shipment. If there are more split shipments in the consignment, repeat this. M3 then creates an additional consignment on the same presort location. Finally, book the new „split consignment“ to another presort lane and location, to avoid double booking on a sort position. Done.

3: Review & adjust planning for split consignments using a Sort Matrix Move split loose carton tasks out to the „parking lane“ for loose cartons. This will allow to stage them until the last carton arrives. Keep reconstruction tasks on their current presort location to fill up there.

4: Release and run the wave Sort the pallets and cartons using the PDA/RDT. When scanning loose cartons, receive the packing list and apply to the carton Receive packing lists for consignments which can be closed and apply to the last pallet Tasks, which are missing cartons, cannot be closed. Keep them back for wave-end cleanup processing
5: Close finally partial consignments Only apply this step if finally one or more cartons are missing, even after one day! Open the /Reporting/Partial Delivery screen Select the respective task (use its presort location) Check packing lists printed and print out the partial delivery report Make sure all documents are coming together Apply all documents to the last pallet of the task

6: Close wave Cleanup all open tasks and decide whether to close or keep open In the wave screen, press the „close wave“ button Run the „OSD Report“ and address discrepancies to the former shipping location
