The Process Drop a golf ball down a tube Knocks over a 2x4 Closes scissors Cuts a string Releases a zip line Triggers a marble Unhooks a weight Goes through a spool Lifts a water bottle Sends water down a tube Flows into a cup Lifts a weight Releases the button

The Energy Gravitational potential energy to Kinetic energy mgh = ½ mv2 Potential spring energy to Kinetic spring energy ½ mkx = ½ mv2 Gravitational potential energy to Kinetic energy and rotational kinetic energy mgh = ½ mv2 + ½ Iw2 Collision m1v1 +m2v2 = m1v1’ + m2v2’

The Problems Overall our device did not encounter a lot of issues the main ones included: The marble would not go down the track The pulley would get stuck The button would not trigger

The Conclusion After 13 steps our device triggered an electrical device Duct tape is a very useful building tool Hands-on projects are a lot more fun than the homework
