Hotel Package Rates Pilot for Travel Agents Welcome to the Expedia TAAP webinar. Today we will show you how to book a hotel at package rate on Expedia. Expedia TAAP offers now this new fantastic feature to help you build a package along with flight or car purchased from separately from Expedia During the webinar all attendees will be muted. What product is eligible for the hotel package rates? ESR EEM GDS  As you know, at Expedia there are 3 type of hotels: ESR (Expedia Special Rate) where Expedia Market Managers negotiates contracts directly with the hotel and where you generate the highest commissions. Expedia is the merchant for these bookings. EEM (Expedia Easy Manage) –GDS (Global Distribution Systems) with the payment at the hotel and also generates a lower commission. ESR hotels are the product where you capture the highest commission level and only this product is eligible for the hotel package rate. Neither EEM or GDS will not be displayed with the package rate.

You are qualified for hotel package rate How to book a hotel at the package rate? You are qualified for hotel package rate & TAAP deal label How to book a hotel at the package rate on Expedia? First of all you should log in to the TAAP portal. If you are correctly logged in and the new feature is enabled for your travel agency, you will see an additional check box “already booked flight, train, car?”. You have to check the box in order to access the hotel data base with package prices available. After selecting the appropriate box, proceed to the hotel search by clicking on “hotels” icon here. You will be redirected to the Expedia booking pages. When you have selected the destination and travel dates you’ll see the hotel search results. On this page you will see the green banner with Expedia TAAP logo on it and an info “you are qualified for exclusive Expedia hotel discounts for travel agents!”. This information ensures you are looking at the hotel package rates. Below, you’ll also see the ESR hotel type label as well as a TAAP deal indication with the label attached to the hotel name. At this stage Expedia notifies you how much of discount you gather on the particular property by labelling it: “TAAP Deal – You save X% off on a 1 night stay”. Select the hotel to land on the room type page.

Notes on discount percentage amount The percentage off discount amount refers to the usual loaded stand alone Expedia rate, if the hotel is running a promotion or special deal the percentage off discount amount may differ from what is quoted. (ie in the below example the saving may be less than 20% if the hotel is running a special outside of the usual stand alone ESR rate) The percentage off discount amount refers to the usual Loaded Stand Alone Expedia Rate, if the hotel is running a promotion or special deal the % off discount amount may differ from what is quoted. Hotel search & check out pages You are qualified for hotel package rate & TAAP deal label When you selected the destination and travel dates you’ll see the hotel search results. On this page you’ll see the green banner with Expedia TAAP logo on it and an info “you are qualified for exclusive Expedia hotel discounts for travel agents!”. This information ensures you are looking at the hotel package rates. Below, you’ll also see the ESR hotel type label as well as a TAAP deal indication with the label attached to the hotel name. Select the hotel to land on the room type page. Now, we just need to pay for the room booked. Please proceed here as you usually do. ….and all done! Easy! Isn’t it? Please note the package rate green banner will not appear if you start booking from e.ca. You always have to start your search on the TAAP portal - e.ca/taap

Contract addendum The Travel Agency Manager accepts the T&Cs online Expedia enables the feature for your agency You and your agents can start booking hotels at package rates! After this webinar we will contact your travel agency manager who will have to accept the T&Cs for the new feature online. Once this is completed, we will enable the feature for you and notify you so you could start booking hotels at best rates!

Questions & Answers In addition it’s important for you to know that your Expedia TAAP report will show an additional column called “Notes”. Here you will see whether or not the ESR product was booked at package rate. Your commission remains at the same level as it is at the moment/ We can now proceed to the Q&A session.
