Background: Born: August 1961 He served as an altar boy (Catholic) during his youth and was fond of dancing Kony is the leader of Uganda’s Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) He was a child soldier who rose to become an infamous commander in Joseph Kony's Lord's Resistance Army. Kony has spread terror across vast swathes of central Africa, torturing, abducting, raping and forcing children to fight its pointless war for more than 30 years. Nationality: Ugandan Current status: Alleged Commander-in-Chief of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) Warrant of arrest: Issued under seal on 8 July 2005, amended on 27 September 2005 | Unsealed on 13 October 2005 Status of proceedings: Execution of the arrest warrant is pending

Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) Evidence!! LRA to attack villages, murdering, raping, and mutilating in a campaign of intimidation that displaced some two million people. Children were abducted and brainwashed into becoming soldiers and slaves. Kony convinced them that holy water made them bulletproof. Children who resisted or tried to escape were beaten to death by their peers. Kony was reported to have taken more than 50 of his female captives as “wives.” For the past 27 years, Joseph Kony has kidnapped children from their homes and forced them to fight in his Lord's Resistance Army (LRA).

Crimes war crimes, including murder; cruel treatment of civilians; intentionally directing an attack against a civilian population; pillaging; inducing rape; and forced enlistment of children crimes against humanity, including murder; enslavement; sexual enslavement; rape; and inhumane acts of inflicting serious bodily injury and suffering.

HAS NOT BEEN CAPTURED The offensive pushed Kony from his jungle camp, but he was not captured. One hundred children were rescued. In May 2010, U.S. President Barack Obama signed into law the Lord's Resistance Army Disarmament and Northern Uganda Recovery Act, legislation aimed at stopping Kony and the LRA.
