PHYSICS ……is about how the physical world works – anything from solar radiation to charging your cell phone.

Many changes in our world today are the result of breakthroughs in the study of physics: things like medical imaging, satellite technology and electronics.

13 Physics In this course we study: Mechanics …..and visit the playground

We carry out a practical investigation which is internally assessed

2. Waves …where we study the physics of musical instruments

3. DC and AC Electricity ..two new components this year: capacitors and inductors!

4. Modern Physics…… Einstein’s famous equation and learn …where we get to use Einstein’s famous equation and learn about quarks and leptons.

..and there’s a chance to enter NZYPT and debate physics ideas with other schools

Some careers that use Physics: Engineering Physiotherapy Sports medicine Medical physics Architecture Medical Imaging Computer technology Electronics
